In the meeting, the German diplomat called for the expansion of financial and banking cooperation while underlining that Berlin will remain committed to the implementation of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Since the recent visit of German minister of economy and energy to Iran, a number of economic cooperation and business projects have been implemented in both countries, he said.
“Berlin is determined to broaden and bolster economic relations with Tehran,” he said adding that Germany will remain committed to the JCPOA and will spare no efforts to comply with its implementation.
He also submitted a message of condolence sent by German foreign minister to his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif on recent coal mine explosion, and said Germany is to render any technical assistance to Iran.
Deputy Foreign Minister for European and American Affairs Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi, for his part called for expansion of all-out relations between the two countries and expressed the hope that existing banking problems would be resolved as soon as possible.
He also called for continued exchange of visits between the two sides’ political and parliamentary officials.
The two sides also reviewed latest developments in the region, mainly in Syria and Yemen.
Regional crisis should be resolved through dialogue and political means and there is no room for any military measures to this end, the German envoy said.
Germany backs territorial integrity of all countries in the region in fight against terrorism and instability, he said.
Highlighting Iran’s policies in resolving regional crisis mainly during Astana trilateral talks, Iran has given priority to restoration of stability, peace and security in the region in fight against terrorism, Ravanchi said.
